As from 1 January 2011 Acta Politica – an international political science journal published by Palgave-MacMillan, which is covered by the Social Science Citation Index, has a vacancy for the post of Journal Editor. He/she will work together with the other editor: Kees Aarts,  and the Book Review Editor

It is expected that the journal editor will:
• Actively acquire manuscripts in all fields of political science
• Select the proper peer reviewers for an assessment of submissions
• Make decisions regarding publications of submitted manuscripts
• Edit manuscripts – if needed – to ensure these are presented in good English
• Develop ideas on the journal and its position in political science.

The candidate should be:
• a political scientist working at a university or a related academic or research institution
• well versed in written English and experience in language editing is a bonus
• acquainted with European political science and its organisations (ECPR and EPSnet); he/she should be(come) a member of the Dutch Association of Political Science
The successful candidate is expected to start collaborating with the present editors in the Fall of 2010, in order to start his/her term by January, 2011.

The journal has a secretary (Ms. Margriet Lambert) who will assist where appropriate and manages communications with the submitting authors and with the publisher.
